Trevor and I have been blessed beyond measure with our two boys. We are thankful and humbled to be given the awesome responsibiliy of raising them into God fearing men. "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Pr. 22:6. Please pray that we train them accordingly as we journey through parenthood. Lane is four now and has very naturally taken on his big brother role. He watches out for Luke, which is really helpful. Throughout the day I hear, "Mama, Luke's on the table, in the trash can, in your closet", or "Luke took his diaper off", etc. Spare time these days is rare, but they're so much fun. We hope everyone enjoys seeing the boys and we'll try to keep it updated frequently.

Silly Boys

This was just after supper, when the boys normally get very wound up. If Trevor were home, they would be wrestling in the floor. But since Daddy's at the fire department tonight, they had to find some other means of amusement.

I'm Learning to Read!

I don't know who is more excited, me or Lane. I've been so anxious about starting this process, but it's going well. I tell him he'll be able to read me bed time stories soon.

These are some snapshots I took in the yard. Isn't he handsome like his daddy.

July trip to Blairsville

After Luke finished his plate he decided to finish off Grandma's mac-n-cheese too.

"We're so sleepy."

I don't remember the name of this river, but it was beautiful. There was a rafting event so we couldn't swim, but we found a spot to get a little wet. The boys had a blast.

The boys enjoyed Grandpa pulling them in the wagon.

2009 Birthday Party

At this point, everyone had taken a swing. We were letting Lane finish it off.

John and Dee Hibberd, who have helped inspire Lane's love of books.

Bill and Joyce Harris, dear family friends.

"Uncle" Mickey and "Aunt" Vicki Gilbert

My baby brother, John and his girlfriend, Audrey

Tammy (Tam-Tam) and Papa, and Aunt Sharon

Lane with his good buddies, Roy and Clay

"If I'm eating, I'm happy!"

This was Luke's 2nd birthday cake. I used Scoop from Bob the Builder as a model. This one is made out of fondant and gum paste.

This was Lane's cake. It was a scene from his favorite book, "Digger Man".

This was in Sunday School. They were little lions (not flowers).

These are their first tie-dyed t-shirts, compliments of Papa Teate.

Guitar Man

Lane loves performing. Trevor and I aren't sure where he gets that. Certainly not from either of us. Nevertheless we're glad he has an outgoing personality.

Face Painting

As a stay at home mom, it's always challenging to come up with fun activities each day. I never know what we'll end up doing, or what mess I'll have to clean up. This particular day Lane suggested face painting, so that's what we did. Luke was more attached to his face art as he wouldn't let us wash it off until the following night.

A Rainy Day

It stopped raining this morning long enough for Lane to try out his new rain boots. He was disappointed there weren't more puddles to jump in. He did, however, find several baby rain frogs he was able to relocate.

Debut Performance

This was at Elko UMC this past Christmas. I couldn't believe Lane actually sang in front of everybody. The first song is "What a Lovely Name" and then "Go Tell It On the Mountain". ( It helps to know what he's singing because he still has trouble with several consonant sounds.)

Play Ball!

Besides tractors, baseball is one of Lane's favorite pass times. He hasn't decided if he wants to be a right or left handed hitter though. It doesn't matter to me, as long as he's hitting the ball and not his brother. He wouldn't do that on purpose, of course. It's just that Luke doesn't understand to get out of the way, and Lane gets a little impatient. We're deffinitely looking forward to little league.

Lane is finding that having a little brother can be very convenient.

Bed Time

Lane wanted me to take his picture in these cute pajamas last night. Luke didn't want to have anything to do with bedtime. He just wanted to ride the horsey.

Corn on the Cob

I never dreamed of giving Luke the actual corn cob. I cut the kernels onto his plate but he insisted on having the cob. I guess from watching us he knew exactly what to do. He ate the whole thing.

Finger Paint

This was our first experience with finger paint. Luke crawled through the artwork which he found to be very slippery. I think they had more fun playing with the water hose.
